What we check, what we cannot check, and what we do when we get something wrong.
Where the product facts come from
Tip types, ink base, set contents and prices are the brand's own published specifications, re-read against the product records before an update goes out. A claim that is not in a set's own specification does not appear on its page: if a box does not carry the ASTM D 4236 conformance line, its page here does not say it does, even though a sibling set on the same shelf might.
Where the safety material comes from
Pages touching labelling law or children's use carry named sources, opened and read before the citing sentence was written, with the read date printed beside the link. Where the guidance works against us it is quoted whole: the paediatric preference for water-based markers over permanent ones is inconvenient for a catalogue built on alcohol ink, and it is on the home page anyway.
Reviews
Quoted reviews are verified purchases, printed as written. Excerpts end at sentence boundaries and nothing is reworded. A whole variation family shares a single review counter, so a line of six colour counts is counted once rather than six times, and a review naming a different variant than the page it would sit on is left off that page. Reviews whose text our collection pass lost are dropped rather than reconstructed.
What we have not done
We have not run a lightfastness test, commissioned a lab or measured bleed-through under controlled conditions, and no page here pretends we have. Where a claim would need that work, it is either attributed to whoever did it or it is absent. The technique guides describe practice, not laboratory results.
Dates and corrections
The catalogue's update date is printed once, on the methods page. If something here is wrong, tell us at hello@anymark.org: it will be fixed, and the fix will be visible rather than silent. We would rather be corrected than be quietly wrong.
